Now that CentOS Stream 8 has reached EOL on May 31, 2024, is there a way to upgrade to CentOS Stream 9?
We were not able to find any official upgrade instructions.
Unofficially, there is this 3rd party guide that documents the live upgrade steps to CentOS Stream 9.
As an alternative, you may consider to:
Both Rocky Linux and AlmaLinux are open-source enterprise operating system designed to be compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and therefore are a very good alternative to CentOS Stream 8.
One or more virtual machine reboots are required during the upgrade or migration procedures listed above.
